Good airport hotel. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Breakfast was good. Gallo pinto was nice. Decent gym. Free shuttle from airport is very convenient. Some reasonable restaurants across the street. Things to improve: would be good if a proper espresso-based coffee was included in the breakfast.

This is the nicest Fairfield I have ever seen. New hotel, great design and décor, clean and neat. The lobby and restaurant are beautifully done; multiple seating options. We had dinner there and breakfast the next morning -- food and beverage were top notch. The rooms are also unbelievably nice, including the gorgeous bathrooms. We stayed one night, having flown in to SJO (the shuttle is a great perk), so we could drive to Uvita in daylight the following day. On the return, we stayed at a competitor's airport hotel, and it was not near as nice. Do not hesitate to book.

The hotel is new and nice. The room is clean and staff friendly. However, the restaurant is not good. Our food took way too long, then some of it was cold. The nachos were overcooked and cold at the same time, my boyfriends steak was good but his side was served cold. We informed them and they did nothing. I didn’t eat my meal because it was inedible but was still charged after asking for it to be removed.

It one thing for a new hotel to look clean and bright, which this new Fairfield certainly does, but to match the look with equally great service is what brings the 5 star ratings. Thanks to the GM for stopping by our table at breakfast to check on our guest experience. This is why we will continue with our loyalty of Marriott for hopefully another 20 + years! I've been traveling 14 years and have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This was one of the best ones I've stayed in. The facilites are beautiful and brand new, the rooms are lovely and beds comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff were AMAZING! Highly recommended for an airport stay before or after your flight.
